Lisa Cryderman is a Registered Nurse with 32 years of experience in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. Currently working in a busy, high-risk Labor and Delivery unit that sees over 6,000 births annually, Lisa brings extensive knowledge and a deep passion for maternal care to each birthing family. She enjoys mentoring new parents as well as midwifery, nursing, and paramedic students, imparting her expertise with the goal of improving care.
Lisa’s passion for birth began in the 1980s, inspired by her older sisters’ home-birthing experiences. This led her to pursue a career as a Registered Nurse. From 2005 to 2017, she served as a Birth from Within Mentor, leading prenatal classes, and today, she continues to support clients as an Energy Healer and Bodyworker.
Dedicated to enhancing physiologic birth practices within hospital settings, Lisa finds the Spinning Babies® paradigm especially transformative. This approach has reshaped her assessments and care strategies, and she is committed to sharing its benefits—not only to improve outcomes for birthing families but also to offer birth practitioners a more fulfilling experience while serving the expectant families in their care. Now, as the mother of a young adult daughter, Lisa is in a position to dedicate her time and energy to teaching and spreading the Spinning Babies® approach.
