Spinning Babies® Aware Practitioners
The following list of bodyworkers and birth workers have completed Spinning Babies® Professional Bodywork Education requirements on our website.
Spinning Babies® Aware Practitioners have been trained in a bodywork protocol intended to allow:
- Comfort in pregnancy
- Spontaneous change to a more optimal fetal position
- Less pain and more ease in labor
- New anatomical space made by reducing tensions and torsion in the fascia
Each practitioner does techniques according to their title, scope of practice, and skills. For instance, a midwife, nurse, or doctor will not have the full range of bodywork knowledge. A bodyworker would not do things that a midwife or medical doctor can with their scope of practice or license. Results occur on an individual basis.
Practitioners on this listing have agreed not to manipulate a baby (push, turn) unless they are a doctor or midwife trained in external cephalic version (ECV).
Spinning Babies® does not assume risk. Decide upon a course of care with your practitioner that you find comfortable and safe.
Orna KonigSpinning Babies® Aware Practitioner (SpBAP), Spinning Babies® Certified Parent Educator (SpBCPE), Doula, and Prenatal Yoga Teacher
Birth Doula, Spinning Babies® Aware Practitioner, Spinning Babies® Certified Parent Educator, and Prenatal Yoga Teacher, with a background in midwifery. Utilizing her nurturing skills in combination with a scientific background (holds a BA in Comp Sc’ and Psyc’ from UC Berkeley), her approach is evidence-based and rooted in the belief that childbearing is a fundamentally healthy and normal part of adult life. While she had attended home-birth midwifery training, she doesn’t believe that there is one “right” way to birth. Her passion is to empower expecting parents by providing them more information that helps them to further connect to their body and physiology.
