10   Link   Ultrasound worries...
While many people depend on ultrasound for help in determining fetal position, there are concerns for safety. Even the doppler used to hear the fetus at the prenatal visit uses sonographic waves (ultrasound, sonography) Please ask for the fetoscope or another non-ultrasound method to count the fetal heart rate whenever there is not a major concern for the baby's condition. When there is a choice to change care, a doppler or ultrasound image may be so helpful that parents find it worth the risk. This is posted to alert parents and help them make an informed consent or refusal.
