Gail Tully and Debra McLaughlin bring a deeper level of Spinning Babies to the experienced baby spinner enthusiast. More depth on the anatomy, techniques, and integration of Spinning Babies in your practice.
In this day long session, Debra will involve you in assessment and care for the pregnant woman. Deb will add understanding to the physical theory, awareness to the midwife’s touch and how touch communicates care for the mother, and precision and finesse to the techniques for better integration.
You’ll learn how tell where the fetus is within the pelvis and how to enlarge that level when maternal positioning is not effective. Gail helps you integrate the Spinning Babies premise into when to do what by using selected case studies from your own births.
Gail will select case studies to clarify how to use Spinning Babies more precisely. Send a 1-page description of what the situation was, how you used Spinning Babies 3 Sisters or other techniques and what happened next. We are looking for case studies to highlight why these usually successful techniques didn’t work in this instance, or worked too slowly compared to other times they are used.
Gail is looking for concise stories where labor continued to take a long time without a clear resolution from the techniques, or labor finished with a cesarean. One story will be chosen to illustrate lack of descent, midpelvis issue, and an outlet issue.
Gail Tully is the developer of Spinning Babies, Belly Mapping, and Resolving Shoulder Dystocia. She is a wife, mother, and grandmother. She spends her time easing birth by making spatial concepts practical for parents and providers alike.
Debra McLaughlin teaches and practices fascial release through dynamic body balancing, CST, and various incorporated modalities. She is a focused, experienced educator and will bring a confidence to the participants on the finer aspects of the myofascial techniques which Jennifer introduced briefly in the Spinning Babies workshop. A trained midwife, Deb now teaches providers and her own bodywork clients, and has taught bodyworkers, medical and nursing students for over 10 years.
